The world-renowned Tallis Scholars return to Concerts at the Cathedral Basilica fresh from their Carnegie Hall appearance, with a program featuring signature choral works written expressly for Saint Mark's Basilica in Venice. Along with Director Peter Phillips, prominent organist Daniel Hyde joins the Scholars, bringing the Cathedral Basilica organ to life in a wide-ranging program highlighting 15th and 16th century composers who played major roles in the musical life of the famed “Church of Gold,” forging the unique choral style that emerged there.
